5 C's of Christian Leadership
Since our first survey in 2002, there have been five themes that have emerged
as the most significant things leadership can do to have a positive impact on
their staff. You will find summaries of these "5 C's" below, and because we
believe it is so vital that leaders of Christian organizations are aware of
these issues, we schedule speaking engagements with organizations throughout the
US and Canada. Please contact us to schedule a consultant to speak to your leaders and staff at an annual conference or other special event about this material.
Culture of Character
Overall, my organization’s leaders behave with fairness and integrity,
demonstrate compassion and the Fruit of the Spirit, conduct activities openly
and honestly and create high levels of trust. The organization reflects Christ
to the world.
Competence
Leaders manage well, communicate a winning strategy and demonstrate that the
organization improved over the last year. Highly qualified staff are hired and
retained.
Commitment to Learning
Leaders care about staff as people, encouraging opportunities for learning and
growth, and solve problems.
Climate for Action
Leaders communicate, involve employees in decisions that affect them, seek and
act on employees’ suggestions and encourage innovation.
Compensation
Leaders effectively reward top performers, pay fairly and provide satisfactory
benefit plans.
