Cary is Regional Director for Best Christian Workplaces Institute. Cary helps organizations in their decisions to use the BCWI Employee Engagement Survey and then supports their understanding of the conclusions and the actions that can follow. He has also helped leadership teams grow focus and cohesion through coaching and off-site retreats. Helping leaders and their organizations succeed is Cary’s work-life focus.
Prior to joining BCWI, Cary served four years as Chief Operating Officer for the Navigators, responsible for administrative support and organizational development. During his time at the Navs, Cary worked with BCWI to bring the BCWI Employee Engagement Survey tool and 360 Leadership Review processes to the organization. The Navigators continue to use those tools.
Before joining the Navigators, Cary spent 30 years with Cargill Incorporated, where he held global sales leadership and general management roles, living on three continents and doing business on five. During his time at Cargill, Cary participated in leading the implementation of engagement and performance review processes and became an advocate for the value that can be added by a helpful look in the mirror. Currently, he offers this expertise as part of BCWI’s Culture Consulting services.
Cary and Susan have been married 40 years and live in Wichita, Kansas, where they spent many of their Cargill years, and where all four of their adult children have home connections. They have a son-in-law and a daughter-in-law and two amazing grandsons. Susan completed law school after raising her children, and now she practices adoption law. She has served two terms as a Kansas State Representative.
Cary serves on the Board of Directors for The Navigators and for Precept Ministries International.
Cary enjoys exercise of all kinds and baking bread the old-fashioned way. He and Susan are active members of Heartland Community Church, PCA, of Wichita, Kansas.
